1. It helps to reduce fats in the body: Coconut oil is a rich source of medium chain triglycerides (MCTS )a type of saturated fats. Saturated fats are divided into three sub groups, each of which has different effects in your body. These sub groups are: long chain, medium chain and short chain.Coconut oil contains MCTs that helps increase good cholesterol. There are two types of cholesterol :high density lipoprotein (HDL )or good cholesterol and low density lipoprotein (LDL )or bad cholesterol. HDL appears to help reduce levels of LDL, and high levels of HDL may help boost cardiovascular health .
